This basement was in need of some love, after a hot water tank exploded and left it semi gutted. We went in, assessed the situation, gave a full quote for materials and labor and went to work.
As you can see, all the flooring was torn out and the drywall was removed from the water damage. This incident happened years ago and luckily, we had some good framing to work with. We also had places where there was no framing at all and so we had to add new framing with 2x4 lumber.
We also added a header around the existing duct work and matched it to the existing header. This is not pictured but this added to the job as adding a header required additional framing and then drywall work.
The finished work turned out really nice with the repairs to the drywall, and the installed carpet and luxury vinyl plank flooring installed. This job had around 600 square feet of floor space. The cement under was close to perfect and that made for a good choice for the LVP and carpet as both of those flooring choices are flexible to not perfect floors.
Having a basement remodel can add more living space to your home and though its not counted when selling it, it adds value to the home.
